1967 VERSION OF THE PLATTERS WITH SONNY TURNER Music Lover: R. C. JONES from CHINO VALLEY, AZ, USA -- May, 13, 2012

Take a look at the album cover for these 1967 Best Platters: You will see lead singer Sonny Turner (second from the right) and Sandra Dawn with the three remaining original Platters Paul Robi, Herb Reed and David Lynch (left to right outside). Tony Williams and Zola Taylor had left the Platters in early 60's; Tony for an unsuccessful solo career. This "Best" CD is for the Musicor Records years which includes hits "With This Ring" and "I Love You 1000 Times." My only dissappointment is that Sonny's version of "Twilight Time" is not here. All the other top Platters' hit songs are included on this Musicor "Best." This gives the collector an opportunity to compare Sonny's lead with Tony's lead singing on earlier "Best" compilations of major hits. The newer songs added make this one unique from the other "Best" of the Platters CD's. 5-12-12 R.C. JONES
