A seminal cornerstone of the skinhead-centric Oi-punk movement in late-'70s/early '80s blue-collar England, VOICE OF A GENERATION is also a bridge between the U.K. crust of bands like Sham 69 and formative American hardcore. Kicking off with album highlight "We Are The Boys," GENERATION is all sneering vocals, searing riffs, and anthemic, bark-a-long choruses. At times evoking vintage Motorhead or resembling the inventive post-punk of Wire, Blitz' bow is more than initially meets the ear, and all street-tough testosterone and scene unity.
