Product Description:

Liner Note Author: George Kerr.
Recording entities have jumped on tracks by the Escorts, reissuing them under various prison-related names, including this import from Sequel Records -- Prisoners of Love. All the titles are apropos; the Escorts called New Jersey's Rahway State Prison home when producer George Kerr undertook the project of recording them for Alithia Records. The sound is similar to what Kerr was concurrently doing with the Whatnauts; the up-tempo tunes spoke of social problems, and the original and new renditions of ballads were sweet enough to syrup a stack of pancakes. The falsetto-led ballads and the up-tempo tracks are the most soulful; the ballads led by the light, unemotional tenor -- he signs 'em straight with no vocal runs or inflections for dramatics, and this will please lovers of light soul/pop, but will disappoint fans who like a little more emotional evolvement. ~ Andrew Hamilton

If you enjoy the smooth sound of Rhythm and Blues in the style of the Moments, Stylistics and the Delfonics you will enjoy these renditions of some old favorites re-done. These guys pour their hearts into harmony and vocalizations that will have you singing along in no time. I recommend you give them a listen and kick back with your love and enjoy the love songs "escorts" style.
