The Stax record label has garnered an impressive roster of soul legends over the years, culminating in the opening of the Stax Museum of American Soul Music in Memphis, TN, in 2003. A special concert was arranged to coincide with the opening of the museum, and some of the highlights of the show are documented on this release. With legends such as Al Green, Mavis Staples, Booker T, and Eddie Floyd performing, this is a real treat for soul lovers everywhere, and ample evidence that the Stax label has proved to be one of the most influential labels in the history of popular music.
