"...The advantage in this recording is that it contains some of Kottke's hilarious deadpan stage banter..."
Solo Performer: Leo Kottke (vocals, acoustic guitar).
Recorded live at the Fox Theater, Boulder, Colorado in April 1995. Includes liner notes by Leo Kottke.
Coming over two decades after Leo Kottke's first live album, MY FEET ARE SMILING, 1995's LIVE shows just how much Kottke's style had changed while his roots remained stubbornly the same. A solo guitar performance recorded in Boulder, Colorado, in 1995, this 15-song set finds Kottke mostly drawing from a combination of his mid-'80s new age-tinged albums and his poppier early '90s records, including 1994's PECULIAROSO.
Mostly instrumental, but with some of Kottke's trademark growling vocals and deadpan audience banter, the disc's highlights include Kottke's version of Duane Allman's "Little Martha," the opening dazzler "William Powell," and the droll vocal piece "Jack Gets Up." Like all of Kottke's live records, LIVE is a low-key, warm-hearted delight.
