This edition of Rhino's Essentials series does an effective job of chronicling the majority of hits by the modern country/Southern rock band Confederate Railroad from the early to mid-'90s. Among the original hit recordings are "Queen of Memphis," "She Took It Like a Man," "Jesus and Mama," and "Daddy Never Was the Cadillac Kind." For some reason the 1992 hit "She Never Cried" was excluded from this compilation. ~ Al Campbell
