A live compilation recorded on Clutch's 2001-2002 tour in support of PURE ROCK FURY, LIVE AT THE GOOGOLPLEX is 15 tracks of Maryland's favorite sons at their gritty best. Sounding more like an open-forum jam session than an actual concert, Clutch's organic, post-grunge, not-quite-metal style reverberates through the listeners' speakers like the rumbling engine of a 1957 Chevy. Neil Fallon's ZZ Top-like vocal delivery is spot on, and the band is in rare form throughout. LIVE AT THE GOOGOLPLEX is a groove-filled, festive hard-rock album.
