Doo Wop 45's on CD, Vol. 15 continues the classic vocal group stampede with 25 hard to find tracks from the '50s doo wop heyday and even a few from the '60s too this time around. Liner notes are nowhere to be found, but everything here has been digitally remastered from master tapes and as a result sounds great. Notable inclusions on Volume 15 include two songs that are more Motown than doo wop: Patty & the Emblems' "Mixed-Up, Shook-Up Girl," and "Never the Less" by Lee Andrews & the Hearts. A few early rockers like "Do You Hear Wedding Bells" from the Jive Five and "I Got Fired" by the Mistakes along with other high-energy tunes from the Royaltones, Skyhawks, and Jackie & the Starlighters make this one of the more upbeat entries in this usually ballad-heavy series. ~ Wade Kergan
