Two-time Academy Award winner Sally Field (Best Actress- 1984, Places in the Heart; 1979, Norma Rae), flies in and out of trouble as Sister Bertrille in this classic and timeless series. Always with benevolent aims, Sister Bertrille gets into all kinds of hysterical situations and manages to get in trouble with the Reverend Mother (Madeleine Sherwood), with Sister Jaqueline (Marge Redmond), and with a local club owner, Carlos Ramirez (Alejandro Rey). From being mistaken for enemy aircraft to having a pelican fall in love with her, Sister Bertrille constantly finds herself in precarious and hilarious situations.

One of numerous sitcoms with fantastical premises from the 1960s, this charming series starred Sally Field as Sister Bertrille, a former surfer-girl turned nun. Upon arrival at her new home at the convent San Tanco in San Juan, Puerto Rico, she makes the curious discovery that her small frame paired with her large headgear causes her to take flight! She uses her powers to provide help--wanted or otherwise--to those in need, and is aided by her playboy bachelor friend Carlos (Alejandro Rey). Sister Bertrille also befriends her fellow nuns: Sister Jacqueline (Marge Redmond), who becomes her mentor; Sister Sixto (Shelley Morrison), a Puerto Rican nun struggling to learn English; and the young Sister Ana (Linda Dangcil). They are often opposed by the staid Mother Superior Plaseato (Madeleine Sherwood).
