During the McCarthy period, Dassin was blacklisted in the US and went on to direct films in Europe. Additional cast: Anne Sargent (Mrs. Halloran), Adelaide Klein (Mrs. Batory), Grover Burgess (Mr. Batory), and Tom Pedi (Detective Parelli).
