Product Description:

A four-part "Masterpiece Theatre" tale of a woman whose yearning for independence puts her at odds with her community. Barely scraping by for her family on her husband's salary, she becomes desperate and takes a job where she discovers there is much more to the world than her priggish neighbors in Cotswald Village.

Plot Synopsis:

After her kind, but dull preacher-husband is passed over for a job promotion, Anna Bouverie takes matters into her own hands. She supplements their meager income while alleviating her personal boredom with a job stacking shelves at a local grocery store -- much to the chagrin of her community. Anna's independence is mocked, except for a handful of individuals who respect her quiet but strong character. Soon, men begin falling in love with the married woman, as she does them, and Anna must choose not only between two men, but between her own life and family as well.
