Product Description:

Personnel: Larry Coryell (vocals, guitar); Julian Coryell (guitar, keyboards, background vocals); David Hidalgo (guitar); Winston Byrd (trumpet); John Hart (bass instrument, bass guitar); Bernard "Pretty" Purdie (drums).
Liner Note Author: Julian Coryell.
Recording information: The Avalon, Hollywood, CA.
Though he's not (usually) given quite enough credit, guitarist Larry Coryell's place in jazz history is crucial. Before Miles Davis, Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Weather Report, Coryell pioneered jazz-rock fusion, both on his own and as a member of Gary Burton's band. He' still pushing at boundaries--with a combo of old and new faces (master drummer Bernard "Pretty" Purdie, son Julien Coryell, David Hidalgo from Los Lobos), Coryell soars through a live set that juggles and integrates elements of fusion, bebop, blues, funk, and rock. Recommended for guitar fanatics in general and Coryell fans in particular.
