AT YANKEE STADIUM remains the album most recommended by NRBQ's loyal following as an entry point for those unfamiliar with this powerfully inventive band. This was the release that should have broken them through to a wider audience on its release in 1978. While the band never achieved mainstream recognition, selections from this record like "Green Lights," "I Want You Bad" and "It Comes To Me Naturally" have been covered by more well-known artists (Bonnie Raitt, Dave Edmunds and The Fabulous Thunderbirds, respectively). These covers are an additional testimony to the strength of this band in general, and to this album in particular. Great songs and great players--NRBQ prove once again that they are a perfectly balanced, musically rich quartet. If you need convincing or a place to start, start with this one.
