FUN IN ESPANOL is El Vez's all-Spanish album. Some of the tracks included here are featured in English versions on his HOW GREAT THOUGH ART release. The musical arrangements, as always, are inventive and eschew cliches. Though he presents himself as a sort of Hispanic Elvis Presley, El Vez never falls into either parody or novelty, precisely his music is played with the utmost conviction and respect. El Vez presents a brightly colored palette filled with dozens of musical references from the '50s onward. From Santana to Traffic to the Beatles to T. Rex, El Vez and his band draw from them all, with fresh surprises at every turn. The spirit of musical fun is alive and well with El Vez.
