Best known for her backup vocal work with Al Kooper, Cat Stevens and especially David Bowie (on Aladdin Sane), this London-born diva possessed one of the most distinctive voices and styles in early-'70s soul, with a range (both vocal and emotional) that was simply prodigious.

The addition of R&B legends Bobby Tench and Max Middleton as well as Pentangle bassist Danny Thompson to the line-up made this 1973 release a virtual supergroup record, with the singularly talented Lewis at the forefront.
