Though he was associated with the late-'70s NYC punk movement, Willie a.k.a. Mink DeVille was actually more of a blues, R&B and even Cajun artist at heart, and as his career continued, his albums became more and more eclectic, soulful and vibrant. And this 1983 release just might be the best of the bunch, with jazzy, ethnic-tinged fare ("River of Tears"), Cuban son ("Demasiado Corazo"n), and heartrending ballads ("Around the Corner" and "The Moonlight Let Me Down") all part of the colorful parade.
