My Favorite Martian (Pilot Episode, September 29, 1963) - Reporter Tim O'Hara spots a flying saucer crash land in the nearby woods. Tim takes an injured alien he discovers amongst the wreckage home and nurses him back to health, introducing him to his neighbors as "Uncle Martin." In order to return to Mars, the spaceship must be repaired and that's going to require parts that haven't yet been invented. In the meantime, Uncle Martin, antennae and all, has come to stay.
The Matchmaker (October 6, 1963) - Tim's boss, Mr. Burns, has gone on vacation and Tim is looking after his dog, George. But George is depressed and refuses to eat. Seems George is in love (call it puppy love) with the neighbor's dog, Chloe. Chloe's mistress, Marsha, has been having a hard time with her boyfriend and is now down on all men, including George. Martin's solution: to play matchmaker between Marsha and Tim, a match not quite made in heaven
There Is No Cure For The Common Martian (October 13, 1963) - Martin has a common cold but, because he's an uncommon man from Mars, he's having a problem with his superior faculties. Whenever he sneezes, he disappears. Meanwhile, Mrs. Brown gives Tim one of Martin's pills so he won't come down with it and it puts Tim out cold. But Tim has promised to turn in an article on the space exhibit at a local department store within the hour. Now it's up to Martin to save the day - and Tim's job - by writing a good review for an exhibit that has preposterous notions of what Martians are like.
Russians R In Season (October 20, 1963) - Tim forges a letter from a "concerned citizen" to the newspaper he works for, protesting that the $2 billion space program can't possibly work because it's based on an erroneous equation - one that only Uncle Martin could have known was in error. Now the heat is on and the Feds are at the door, looking for answers. One official suspects he's a Russian spy. That's when Tim agrees to take a lie detector test. But, when he fails, they turn to Tim's mysterious houseguest for answers, administering a battery of tests including truth serum.
