For a set titled Only the Best of Cold Blood, this ain't all that selective. It's closer to exhaustive, containing five of the band's albums -- Cold Blood (1969), Sisyphus (1970), First Taste of Sin (1972), Thriller! (1973), and Lydia (1974) -- on four CDs. Like a fast-food value meal, the box provides you with more than you could possibly want (unless you are a late-'60s/early-'70s San Francisco scene completist) for a reasonable price. ~ Andy Kellman
