Although there have been many John Denver compilations over the years, this 2006 Legacy collection is the first to offer up a well-selected set of the folk/pop icon's plainly romantic work. Drawing from various studio albums and live performances between 1969 and '95, LOVE SONGS features many of the late singer/songwriter's most beautiful tunes, including the gentle, lilting title track from POEMS, PRAYERS AND PROMISES and his own version of the bittersweet "Leaving on a Jet Plane" (initially made famous by Peter, Paul & Mary).
