Product Description:

Personnel: Irene Kral (vocals); Herb Pomeroy (trumpet); The Herb Pomeroy Orchestra.
The late sister of jazz singer Roy Kral (of Jackie & Roy), Irene Kral remains an excellent, mostly underrated vocalist in the unassuming, "cool" manner of peer June Christy. Recorded in the late 1950s, THE BAND AND I pairs Kral with the similarly unheralded trumpeter/arranger Herb Pomeroy for a program of mostly lesser-known gems by famous songwriters (Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer). The winning vocals of Kral and the refined swing of Pomeroy make a great team--BAND AND I is ideal for serious fans of jazz singing.
