In November 1945, the first of what would be a four-year-long series of trials against major Nazi war criminals commenced in the city of Nuremberg, Germany. These tribunals were momentous not only for bringing justice to those who perpetrated the Holocaust, but for setting the standards of future international law, especially in regards to war crimes, genocide, and human rights. This episode of the PBS documentary series AMERICAN EXPERIENCE recreates the Nuremberg Trials through archival material, voiceover narration, and interviews with eyewitnesses and historians.
