Cheesy is Right!

Expecting some fun shlock 1970's ambience reminiscient of my junior high days, I figured this would be a silly movie anyway, but combine that with plotlessness (okay, the plot's some crazy guy after a pretty schoolteacher having an affair with her newly-graduated student - 18 years old so it's "okay", although the actor looks to be at least 25) and abysmally poor acting from collectively unappealing people, and it's an unwatchable, boring mess. It isn't even "so bad that it's funny" like roadshow exploitation trash. The only grimly mirth-provoking aspect is that EVERYTHING this teacher/neighbor of this youth does was, had he been a smidgen under "18", just as much against the law 30 years ago as it is now, but back then no one ever did anything about it and one realizes with horror how much criminality a lot of our schoolteachers got away with in those days. She gives this kid beer and wine all the time, of course is carrying on with him in an affair, in fact pressures him to start a liaison with her. And his goofy mother ENCOURAGES it!
If you're nostalgically hoping for the lurid TV movie of the week trash you watched as a kid, or the kind of hilarious garbage of drive-in-flicks you sneaked off to with older friends (ah, those hedonistic 1970's,) this will be a real let-down. Agonizingly boring.
