Indianapolis's Haste the Day may have Christian beliefs, but their sweltering metalcore refuses to play nice. Their fourth full-length, DREAMER, is rife with scouring riffs and thrilling guitar interplay. Opener "68" sets the tone, machine gun guitars mowing down everything in sight, as singer Stephen Keech growls with authority. Both "An Adult Tree" and "Babylon" slow the tempo up somewhat, finding room for melodic choruses and cleaner vocals, and "Labyrinth" flirts with Radiohead-like grandeur through heavily echoed guitars and hazy vocals.
