Product Description:

Two ambitious Cuban brothers come to New York to make a name for themselves as musicians during the mambo craze of the 1950's. By day they work hard at manual labor, at night they are transformed; but the pressures of fame threaten to drive them apart. Academy Award Nominations: Best Song ("Beautiful Maria of My Soul").

Plot Synopsis:

Cuban brothers Nestor and Cesar flee Havana, after a romantic rival threatens Nestor's life. Working in a meat-packing plant by day, at night they pursue their dreams of finding romance and of forming their own mambo band.

Shown at the Miami Film Festival February 7, 1992. First time director Arnold Glimcher is a producer and Manhattan art gallery owner.
