Description by OLDIES.com:
Fully Restored! A Confederate guerilla raiding federal supply shipments makes his way to a frontier post during the Civil War, and it's up to Army scouts Gene Autry and Pat Buttram to track down these looters posing as Union soldiers.
The Singing Cowboy and quintessential filmic good guy is "The Whirlwind," crack postal inspector who arrives in Red Bluff to investigate a series of mail robberies. Big Jim Lassiter is in control of much of the land in the area, and Gene becomes suspicious of him when the charred remains of some stolen postal bonds turn up on his property, but he lacks the proof to confirm his suspicions. This arrives, however, in the form of Wade Trimble, a henchman of Big Jim's who confesses that Lassiter killed his own brother in order to steal his lovely niece Elaine's estate, and has also been setting up a bona fide old West crime syndicate responsible for the robberies. Gene and Agent Burnett, who is posing as a horse doctor, set about cleaning up the criminal element of Red Bluff.
