BOYS TOWN: This movie tells the story of Father Flanagan, who battled the courts, the community, and the odds to create a home for boys that society had tossed away. Eleanore Griffin and Dore Schary won Oscars for Best Original Story.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL: Though not quite on a par with the same-titled film starring Alistair Sim, this version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL is still a moving version of the classic story. A wealthy miser learns how wonderful and fulfilling life can be with a little generosity at Christmas time from three specters who visit him the night before Christmas.

CHRISTMAS IN CONNECTICUT: A sharp writer who has never set foot in a kitchen passes herself off as the consummate housewife in the column she writes for a women's magazine. When a promotional stunt plants her editor and a Navy war veteran at her fictitious home for Christmas dinner, she has to marry her boyfriend, find a house, and prepare a spectacular meal, pronto. Life grows even more complicated when she starts to fall for the sailor.
