When the beautiful Rosa Sandoval dies while giving birth to the son of her lover, corporal John Warner, Don Pedro Sandoval blames Warner for her death and vows to seek revenge. Warner is consumed with grief over the loss of his beloved and filled with hatred from Sandoval's treatment of him and his son. As the hostility between the two men escalates, they hunt one another like true enemies and finally settle their account the only way they know how.
A man considered a deserter by the Confederate army seeks to settle accounts with Sandoval, the father of the woman he loved. He assembles a small band of misfits and renegades who terrorize Northern Mexico and finally has a climatic confrontation with Sandoval.
