A two-CD compendium of songs recorded for the Four Star record label early in the country singer Patsy Cline's career, 50 GOLDEN GREATS includes the rockabilly-flavored "Stop, Look and Listen" and the poppy "I Love You Honey." Though her contract with Four-Star prevented Cline from choosing her own material, she still managed to have two hits in succession with "Walking After Midnight" and "A Poor Man's Roses." While none of the rest of the material featured here quite matches up to "Midnight," this collection is still a fascinating glimpse into the early years of a country music legend.
