Love Machine: The 70's Collection
Music Lover: James J. Wilson III from North Holltwood, California -- September, 21, 2006
This is a great collection that's long overdue. However, I do agree with the person who said Motown should re-release (on CD) the first album "Renaissance". Let me take it a step further, the first three albums with Billy Griffin as the new lead should be releaseed on CD. All of them were great, not just the singles. It would show no disrespect to Smokey (if that's what Motown is thinking) to do so, they were great albums. Billy was great, and shouldn't be compared to Smokey. Both artists are incredible and bring to the table their own individual talents. As much as I love this 70's collection, it's frustrating because of all the other fantastic songs from those first three albums that still aren't available on CD.

Not a bad album, but the real tragedy is why doesn't Motown release the album "Renaissance," which was the first album released with Billy Griffin replacing Smokey in the group. That's gotta be one of the greatest albums of all time that absolutely cannot be found. I've searched everywhere. The Love Machine album features two or three of the cuts that were on the Renaissance album, but nothing can compare to Billy Griffin's debut on Renaissance with the Miracles.
