Description by OLDIES.com:
Buddy Guy's Legends
nightclub has become as celebrated as its namesake for providing the highest quality blues talent to be seen anywhere. From the Monday jam sessions to the constant flow of world-class talent on weekends, Legends
is a required stop for soul-stirring blues and barbeque. Chicago Blues Jam
brings you a slice of this legendary stage, with interviews and commentary by Buzz Kilman.
Billy Branch: The leader of the Sons of the Blues, Branch is considered to be an instrumental leader in shaping the future of Chicago blues. A former member of Willie Dixon's Chicago Blues All-Stars, Branch recorded and toured with the legend extensively. He still performs regularly, and was instrumental in creating the Blues in the Schools program in Chicago, which will undoubtedly be formative for future blues performers.
Keb' Mo': This talented guitarist/vocalist from Compton, CA has electrified audiences since his debut release in 1980. A decidedly modern artist who fuses blues with many other influences, Keb' will certainly continue to shape and influence the evolution of blues through the 21st century.
Blues musician Billy Branch is captured in performance on this release. Shot at Legends in Chicago--which is owned by legendary bluesman Buddy Guy--it forms part of a series of shows from the club. Each release in the series comes from one of Legend's Monday-night jam sessions, and is designed to highlight the impressive array of talent that has passed through the club's doors.
