Digitally remastered for the Fantasy label in 1991, this 1978 Stax release documents the shimmering soul music of the '70s like few others. Funky grooves and a tight, piercing horn section make this music really sparkle.
Highlights include a cover of Dave Mason's "Feelin' Alright" and the title track, "Money Talks," but "Holy Ghost" probably stands as this album's most memorable tune. A hook-laden groove, this song is a Bar-Kays staple that emphasizes the punchy brass riffs of trumpeter Charles Allen. MONEY TALKS is a collection of energetic party at once exotic and erotic. The music has plenty of attitude and sass; it's perfect for getting your blood pumping.
