Rhino Flashback's Best of 80s Pop: Love Songs is a little misleading. The ballads are few and far between (the Cars "Drive" and Foreigner's "I Wanna Know What Love Is") with an emphasis on upbeat, mid-tempo rockers like John Parr's "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)" and Lou Gramm's undeniably incoherent and awesome "Midnight Blue." It's a weird mix that ends up being a lot more fun that it should. ~ James Christopher Monger
