Inspired by the popular home décor magazine, this episode of the A&E television series focuses on how color, space, and form can be utilized in homes to create bold, vibrant messages. HOUSE BEAUTIFUL tours some of the most renowned homes in America, starting with the home of art director Barbara Drake. Drake's home is of the Mediterranean style and gives off an aura of peace and tranquility with the choice of colors and furnishings selected. Then, there is a look at the home of Seattle artist Dale Chilhuly, who adds touches of glass artwork to the home to add more light and color. Then, HOUSE BEAUTIFUL heads to New York City to the home of collector John Januk, who mixes designs from both the 20th and 21st centuries. Lastly, there is a look at the "house of the week": a modern Newport Beach home designed by Charles Bernstein.
