"[A] black and white caper with a suitably flimsy plot....The group can't act but this is a real hoot..."
Description by OLDIES.com:
It's Ed Wood meets A Hard Days Night when Greg, Andy, Mike, Ted & Jeff, together The Chesterfield Kings take on the evil Andro, a maniacal extraterrestrial bent on world domination. The cosmic showdown sends The Kings racing around the globe, from London to Rome, Las Vegas, & Honolulu in a desperate attempt to reclaim drummer Mike who is held hostage by the deranged alien. Can The Chesterfield Kings find their drummer, halt Andro's master plan & save the world?
Rochester's Chesterfield Kings helped to jump-start the garage rock boom of the 1980s, with a sound that recalled nothing so much as pre-1966 Rolling Stones. They have remained consistent in their perpetuation of all things 1960s, releasing numerous critically-acclaimed, collectible 45's, and playing with such rock & roll luminaries as Bo Diddley, Johnny Thunders, Dee Dee Ramone, and Stiv Bators. In 2000 the group debuted their feature film, a comedy drama that draws upon cultural milestones like THE MUNSTERS, Ed Wood films, and the Beatles movie HELP! Shot in locations all around the world, the film tells the tale of unlucky drummer Mike's abduction by evil alien mutant Andro, who wants to use Mike in his plan to take over the world. The band's mission is clear: they must find their friend and stop the alien's evil endeavors before it is too late. With this aim they travel to London, Rome, Las Vegas, and Honolulu, encountering many strange characters and slapstick adventures along the way, in what was an instant cult classic and a hilarious throwback to the swinging '60s.
