Entertainment Weekly - 10/11/96, p.93"Sanborn works that fragile line between pop and jazz better than most anyone, and he's been doing it long enough to know how to keep away from elevator-bound banalities. His latest falls into a familiar groove, and that's not a bad thing..." - Rating: B
JazzTimes - 2/97, p.96"Fans of David Sanborn's alto sax sound will welcome his 14th solo issue of urban pop-jazz compositions that fit well with the smooth-jazz idiom prevalent on radio today....Sanborn's vibrato-rich solos carry vestiges of his early R&B work..."

David Sanborn's distinctive alto is all over this set, caressing the melodies and playing short soulful solos in typical fashion. Joined by an electronic quartet that features prominent work by Ricky Peterson on keyboards (including bass and drum programming), plus a horn section, Sanborn gives humanity and honest feeling to what could have been an anonymous effort. In addition to the many originals, the influential altoist plays tasteful versions of Wayne Shorter's "Infant Eyes" and Eddie Harris' catchy "Listen Here." ~ Scott Yanow
