Though by no means definitive, the sixth volume in BMG's multi-part, budget-line overview of the big band sound of the 1940s is still a good introduction to the swing era -- while the omission of liner notes is endlessly frustrating, the overall sound quality is strong, and perennials like Sammy Kaye's "Don't Fence Me In," Perry Como's "Till the End of Time" and Duke Ellington's "I'm Beginning to See the Light" never go out of style. ~ Jason Ankeny
