My favorite new wave band!!!
Music Lover: DaVon Walker from Miami, Fl., U.S.A. -- August, 29, 2007
First of all, I'd like to say to all of those who may have stated that The Waitresses are the worst band of the '80s or ever, I've got to defend them. Because I really think it's unfair to judge them so harshly and hastily, just because they had that one hit "I Know What Boys Like". You can't judge them so soon until and unless you've heard their other songs first. Because there's much more to them than that single. This album is great from beginning to end because it's so witty and the music is exciting (with some songs being better than others to me). Why are they my favorite new wave band? I think they made some of the most exciting new wave rock ever created and maybe it's also that they're among the quirkiest of the new wave bands, which is exactly what I like. I wish Patty Donahue were still here, because if she were, there definitely would've been a reunion and had there been, I definitely would've loved to see them in concert, and I hate that I had to miss out on them the first time since I wasn't born yet before they disbanded. They're still better than the mess that's on mainstream radio today. And they'll always be among the coolest bands to me. If you're into the tones of music that I just described on theirs, then I highly recommend it. At least their King Biscuit Flower Hour live cd I also own makes up for it and is close enough, which I'd recommend too, since they sound better live.
