Ying Yang Twins

Formed in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, the Ying Yang Twins comprises friends Kaine (Eric Jackson, 16 December 1978, USA) and D-Roc (b. DAngelo Holmes, 13 February 1979, USA). The duo first came together in 1996, after a mutual acquaintance introduced them. They quickly realized that their rhyming styles complimented each other perfectly, but the only problem was that D-Roc was already signed to Ichiban Records as a solo artist (having issued the largely ignored True Dawgs). The label graciously allowed D-Roc to record elsewhere, as he and Kaine worked on a session with renowned rap producer Beat-In-Azz (who at the time, went by the name DJ Smurf), appearing together on his Dead Crunk album. The producer was instantly taken by the chemistry between the pair and convinced them that they should begin recording together.
