Roger McKenzie, 1 February 1971, Southampton, Hampshire, England, d. 25 November 1995, Southampton, Hampshire, England. Signed to Polydor Records Hi-Life subsidiary, Wildchild enjoyed a major hit in October 1995 with Renegade Master, a UK number 11 single. Previously he had worked prolifically on more underground dance projects, including several productions for Brighton label Loaded Records. He also ran his own label, Dark & Black. Wildchild moved to New York with his partner and manager Donna Snell, but returned to England to appear on Top Of The Pops with the success of Renegade Master. He collapsed and died from an undiagnosed heart condition just one month later. His record label established a Wildchild Music Foundation in his memory.
