Biography

The Pixies influenced countless bands with their raw yet melodic brand of quirky alt rock, including the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA-based punk pop outfit Weston. Formed in the early 90s, Weston was originally comprised of Dave Weston (guitar/vocals), Chris Benner (guitar), Chuck (bass/vocals), and Jeremiah Attanasio (drums). Supposedly, the band’s name came about as a ‘tribute’ of sorts for the front man’s parents, who allowed the band to rehearse at their house early on. It took the trio a few years to build up steam and although several singles were released along the way, it was not until 1994 that they issued a proper debut, A Real Life Story Of Teenage Rebellion. Next up was a compilation of these aforementioned early singles, Splitsville, before the band made further progression on late 90s releases such as 1996’s Got Beat Up and 1997’s Music From The Soundtrack Matinee.
