Formed in 1970, Wadsworth Mansion was a quartet whose only impact on rock music was the US Top 10 single ‘Sweet Mary’ the following year. The group comprised Steve Jablecki (vocals/guitar/keyboards), his brother Mike (drums), Wayne Gagnon (guitar) and John Poole (bass). ‘Sweet Mary’ was written by Steve Jablecki and recorded by the group in Hollywood in 1970, with Jim Calvert and Norm Marzano producing. Released on Sussex Records, this pop song ascended to number 7 in the USA and was followed by two other singles and an album. The band then apparently split up, as no further recordings are known.
