Biography
Following his surprise sacking from Mötley Crüe, frontman Vince Neil (Vincent Neil Wharton, 8 February 1961, Hollywood, California, USA) wasted no time in establishing a solo career, contributing Youre Invited But Your Friend Cant Come (co-written with Damn Yankees duo Jack Blades and Tommy Shaw) to the Encino Man (California Man outside the USA) soundtrack. After this, he assembled a band with ex-Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens, ex-Fiona guitarist Dave Marshall, ex-Enuff ZNuff drummer Vikki Foxx, and bass player Robbie Crane, who had switched from rhythm guitar after original bass player Phil Soussans departure. The Ron Nevison-produced X-Posed brought Neil a good deal of respect, demonstrating his songwriting ability on good-time arena metal that followed the direction in which he felt Mötley Crüe should have moved.
