Biography
Taken from W.H. Audens poem of the same name, Victor is the enigmatic title given to Rush guitarist Alex Lifesons first solo project. In 1994, for the first time in their career, the trio agreed to take a break from their established work regime and Lifeson took the opportunity to put together his first solo album. Recorded over 10 months at his home studio, just north of Toronto, the result was a very dark, diverse and aggressive album. Much of the recording was completed by himself, with an impressive list of guest musicians including guitarist Bill Bell, bass player Pete Cardinali, drummer Blake Manning and Primus bass player Les Claypool. Most of the vocals were handled by Lifeson, with contributions from Edwin of I Mother Earth and acclaimed Canadian vocalist/songwriter Dalbello.
