His father, also a singer, died in a road accident. Nicknamed El Gallo De Oro (the Golden Rooster), Elizalde had some successes with records of Como Me Duele, Ebrio De Amor, Mi Virgencita, Soy Asi, Vencedor and Vete Ya.
