A jazz collective formed in 1995 by combining the talents of Ramsey Lewis (27 May 1935, Chicago, Illinois, USA; keyboards/piano) and Grover Washington Jnr. (b. 12 December 1943, Buffalo, New York, USA, d. 17 December 1999, New York City, New York, USA; saxophone), with sidemen Omar Hakim (b. c. 1959, New York City, New York, USA; drums) and Victor Bailey (b. 27 March 1960, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA; bass). Their debut was one of the most successful contemporary jazz releases of the year. The final part of a trilogy of albums was released in 2000 following Washingtons tragic death in 1999. A fourth album, released in 2001, reached number 1 on the Billboard jazz chart. Since then their music has continued to reach the higher regions of the jazz chart. As long as they can count, there seems no end to their output.
