Biography
Johnny Jones Jnr., 9 September 1967, Dallas, Texas, USA. Given his nickname while still a baby by his guitar-playing father, Jones began his musical career at the age of six, playing drums for his uncles band, L.C. Clark And The Four Deuces. Entering his teenage years, Jones hooked up with local bluesman and club owner R.L. Griffin, which gave him the opportunity to work behind Barbara Lynn, Little Milton, Little Joe Blue and Z.Z. Hill. Through his work with Blue, he took an interest in playing the guitar, which led to him playing drums with one band and guitar with another. In 1989, he formed Tutu Jones And The Right Time Showband, supporting Clarence Carter and Denise LaSalle, among others. His first album consisted of original material that nevertheless revealed the acknowledged influences of Freddie King, Little Milton and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
