Biography
From Arlington, Virginia, USA, Tsunami remained true to the street level activism credo of punk, though their music was more pop-orientated than that categorization implied. Comprising Jenny Toomey (guitar/vocals), Kristin Thomson (guitar/vocals), Andrew Webster (bass/vocals) and John Palmer (drums), they once invited the press to try to prove were not punk rock. They rose to prominence in the 90s through a series of 7-inch singles released on their own Simple Machines Records (other artists featured included Nation Of Ulysses, Velocity Girl, Unrest, Superchunk and Scrawl, as well as Toomeys other bands - Choke and Geek). Their debut release was 1991s Headringer EP.
