Biography
Formed in Wigan, England, in 1982, Trojans original line-up comprised Dave Kenyon (vocals), Pete Wadeson (guitar), Andy J. Halliwell (guitar), Brian Bentham (bass) and Mick Taylor (drums). The band first became noticed on the heavy metal underground scene with a hastily recorded five-track cassette. This credible offering was a blend of high-speed thrash metal with a punk attitude. The band contributed a track to a budget compilation, Metal Maniaxe, released on Ebony Records in 1982. However, owing to a relative lack of record company promotion, coupled with a yearning by various members of the band to pursue other musical directions, they dissolved. Determined to carry on, Wadeson underwent lengthy auditions to re-form the band. By 1984 a new line-up was confirmed, featuring Graeme Wyatt (vocals), Eddie Martin (bass) and Sam Hall (drums).
