Biography
1962, Waltham Park, Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies. Palma is widely acknowledged as being introduced to the recording scene by DJ and producer Jah Thomas. He was hailed as a master of the sing-jay style that enjoyed enormous popularity in the early 80s. In 1980, prior to his alliance with Jah Thomas, the She Get Up And Skank label released ‘Bad Boys’, which accelerated his career. He recorded ‘A Class Girl’, credited to Triston And Tony, which inspired Thomas to work with Palma. His initial hits, ‘Entertainment’ and ‘Spliff Tail’, made a significant impression with the reggae audience. He also recorded in combination with Ranking Toyan ‘Run Around Woman’, and with Badoo ‘Yes I’m Ready’.
