Biography
Formed on an informal basis in 1999 and based in North Carolina, USA, this trio comprises singers Caitlin Cary (Selville, Ohio, USA), Lynn Blakey (b. USA) and Tonya Lamm (b. USA). Basing their repertoire upon classic country rock, and also showcasing the trios own songwriting skills, they developed a distinctive stylistic approach and their 2004 debut Sweetwater was highly praised. Blakey had previously sung with Lets Active and Oh Ok and concurrent with Tres Chicas was lead singer with Glory Fountain. Cary was a founder member of Whiskeytown and also appears as a solo artist and in duo with Thad Cockrell, while Lamm helped launch Hazeldine. Additionally, all had worked as backing singers for various headline acts. After meeting up, the trio decided to form their own group and they began to appear, when schedules permitted, mainly in clubs on Raleigh, North Carolina, where they picked up the name by which they were to be known....
